Båstadsgatan 4, Malmö 2003
On one side of a narrow hallway hung a mirror. Facing the mirror,
slightly higher up sat a window with a ledge and potted flowers. When
the visitor looked in the mirror, they could see the window, ledge
and potted flowers just behind and above their head. A hand suddenly
appeared from the window above and pushed one of the flowerpots off
the ledge. The flowerpot falls toward the visitor's head. When it
smashed in to pieces the sound echoed throughout the gallery, but
the sound had come from behind the mirror and all flowerpots remained
on the ledge above the visitors head. The course of events had only
happened in the mirror. I was behind the trick mirror throwing flowerpots
live during the exhibition (where about 400 flowerpots were used).
